We are pleased that you have considered participating in the 2015 Mr. Black History Pageant, presented by BSO and NPHC. This year’s pageant will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015. The following information is a brief overview of the pageant and details you will need to be a participant. Please read the following carefully and complete all sections of this application.
The Mr. and Miss Black History Pageant is pageant and showcase to highlight and honor some of UNLV's most distinguished men and women. Each applicant must be a leader amongst their peers, around the campus and in their community. Qualifications are simple; each applicant must be a current student enrolled in UNLV and complete and submit the Mr. and Miss Black History Application packet by midnight on Friday, December 12, 2014.
All applications will be voted on by the Mr. Black History event planning committee. Applicants will receive a verbal and written notification of the committee’s decision by Friday, December 19, 2014.
The top four male and female applicants will compete in the Mr. and Miss Black History Pageant at UNLV on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Contestants will be judged based on each category of the pageant. Judges will be African-American campus and community leaders.
Applicants that are not chosen will still be strongly encouraged to assist with other aspects of the Mr. and Miss Black History Pageant. An applicant may also be asked to participate at a later date if a selected contestant can no longer participate in the pageant.
